Wolves have been apart of human lives for years. They have been hunted and despised by humans for years as well. Yet to some they are a beautiful animal that deserves to live and thrive and not be used as a coat. Some believe them to be harmful and a threat to any person that comes across one. When in reality wolves are very skittish when it comes to humans and only become angered if the human does something first to make it feel threatened. Wolf populations have declined over the years due to humans taking their habitats and homes. Wolves were living here years before humans were even thought of. Wolves aren't the ones that go hunting humans for irrational and materialistic reasons. How would you feel if someone skinned you for money when you did nothing wrong then be in the wrong place at the wrong time? Every animal should be treated with respect, seeing as most were here before us. There are multiple things you can do to help keep wolves thriving and give them better lives. For example you can volunteer at zoos or sanctuaries. You could also donate to sanctuaries that specialize in rehabilitating wolves. The Wild Animal Sanctuary specializes in helping large carnivores. There are also many books and films that educate people about how wolves really are and not how the media portrays them to be. A Man Among Wolves is a good film to watch and learn more about this majestic animal . Another good documentary is Living With Wolves which shows how pack ranks are established and provides insight to why wolves do certain things. All they want is to be able to live a long, happy life with their family. Isn't that what everyone wants? Wolves are pack animals and they feel a loss as we do. So why kill?
